What is a “Grizzly Mouse”?
Grizzly Mouse is an independent merchandise consulting/design/fulfillment company based in Brooklyn, NY.
What does Grizzly Mouse do?
We work with artists who need an extra hand with their merch in capacities both small and large. We do all things merch, from writing release timelines and creating designs to hosting your webstore and fulfilling your fans’ orders. We believe in simplicity: a few unique items over dozens of designs and products that may overwhelm your fans. We believe in making affordable merchandise without sacrificing quality. We believe in staying small and supporting the companies and individuals we trust. We believe in what we do and wear our merch with pride. Most importantly, we believe in our clients. Every artist on our roster is someone whose work we know and love. That connection allows us to tailor our designs and services and allows us to give extra love and care both to the artist and to and their fans.
I’m a musician/webcomic artist/photographer and I want Grizzly Mouse to help me!
Great! We love meeting new creative people. Send us an email and we’ll give you a consultation for free, with no obligations. Because we are commited to keeping our roster small so we can offer our clients top-notch personalized service, we may not be able to take on every artist who contacts us, but in that case we will be happy to point you toward other resources.
You keep saying “we”. Who is “we”?
At the moment, “we” are Beth Hommel (former director of Post-War Trade, the merchandising arm of The Dresden Dolls empire) and Jennifer Broski (former Post-War Trade merch elf, current Broadway World photographer). They met when Beth was processing more than a thousand orders per month from a Brooklyn loft and asked for volunteers to help organize things. Jennifer showed up with Redbull in hand and ended up staying for four months. During that time, they discovered they shared a love of writing, angsty female singer-songwriters and beer— and, of course, merch. One night after seeing a particular angsty female singer-songwriter’s bare merch table, Beth and Jennifer decided to go into business together to bring GOOD MERCH to great artists of all levels.
I know a ton about mail-order/merch/music/making coffee! Can I work at Grizzly Mouse?
We’re not hiring at the moment, but we are looking for interns! We’ll post future opportunities here or on our Twitter (so follow us!)
Seriously though, what the hell is a “Grizzly Mouse”? And isn’t that thing in the logo actually a CAT rather than a mouse or a grizzly anything?
Since you asked so persistently, this is a Grizzly Mouse (aka a grizzly-moose-mouse-dog-cat-bear-groundhog-piggy-vulture-raccoon):
